Growing up, I was always surrounded by my family, both immediate and extended.

Holiday gatherings, birthday parties, Sunday dinners that boasted my mama's Milanesa and Mexican Rice. Every Christmas, we looked forward to Grandma's tamales and her famous salsa. All great memories, and so many of them revolved around the kitchen, and great food.

I also remember my Abuelita Clemen and her sewing machine. She would often let me help her, even when I was clearly more of a hinderance. Sometimes she would let me sort buttons, or hand her stick pins when she needed them. She attempted to teach me to sew, how to crochet, and even how to make her special pancakes. She was so creative, and kind, a generous and genuine soul. I wanted to be just like her when I grew up.

Years later, after making the decision to stay home with my daughters, it was the memories, of those so close to my heart, that inspired me to start Vanessa and Company. I hope you will love our products, as much as we love bringing them to you.
